I'd like to mention that drawing the last panel brought me that much closer to understanding the subtleties of the physio-psychological state of someone sitting on a branch above a pack of spotted hyenas in the wee hours of the morning.
And, though it may sound unlikely, that is one of my central life goals
Now, I can't be sure, but I imagine this predicament would feel very like trying, with colored pencil, to draw things like lanterns shining through a cloud of mist rolling down into a valley on a moonlit night.
You see, if I were sitting on that branch, as the predator/scavengers circled and laughed below, I would try to remain hopeful that come dawn, the hot, Sub-Saharan sun would drive them back into the shelter of their lair. In other words, I'd be hoping the dawn would solve my problem.
Of course, if the hyenas were hungry enough, it's possible they'd stick around. Likewise, I might still not be able to color convincingly once the sun rises over Ableton.
